Investing “Opportunities Zones” USA sources of Capital
The United States tax reform bill passed on December 2017 includes several incentives to stimulate new investment in low-income communities throughout the nation. The “Opportunity Zones Program” grants individuals and corporate investors the opportunity to defer taxes from capital gains when they reinvest the earnings in designated “Opportunity Zones” communities. Puerto Rico has received this designation.
